The good news about this particular problem is that it is really easy to fix and make it look like that the hole wasnt even there in the first place
You may need to patch up a hole in your drywall that was the result of getting the piping fixed in your kitchen.
There are basically a lot of causes of holes in the drywall. So, here are some of the things that you can do to fix this type of drywall nightmare.
First off, you will need the proper materials in order for you to efficiently and professionally patch up the hole in the drywall. You will need a joint compound, a drywall tape, orange peel texture, wood screws, drywall, and also some type of scrap wood or simply some plywood.
For the tools, you will need a drill, a putty knife, a sander, and a drywall saw.
First of all, you have to take the drywall saw and cut out the debris. This will help you remove the debris that was accidentally put through the wall. Start around the edge of the damaged area and cut a square sized hole to remove the damaged drywall.
The next step is to cut a piece of wood that is about the same size of the hole you cut on the wall. Just give it a little room on the sides in order for you to put your hand in to hold the wood in place when screwing it. After doing this, you now need to place it in the hole and screw the piece of wood above the hole. Do the same for the opposite corner for both corners at the bottom of the hole.
Then, you will now be able to place a piece of drywall you cut over the wood that you recently fastened on the wall. This will set the drywall in place by screwing it on all four sides. This is the hard part.
After doing this, all you need to do is make the fix unnoticeable. To do this, just get a putty knife and dig out a little compound. Then, press the compound in to the cracks that you see around the newly fixed piece of drywall. After this, you can now get your drywall tape and cut it in to lengths that you need in order for it to cover all the four sides of the cut.
These are the basics on fixing a drywall hole. By following these steps, you will be able to fix your drywall and make it look as if nothing happened. Through these tips, you can fix any hole in your drywall and make it look as if the hole wasnt even there in the first place.
